Covid-1 9: Senator Nkeze Emilia Donates Kits To Persons With Special Needs.

The items made up of more than one hundred Bucket Taps of 50liters each, Hand Sanitizers, Cartons of Soap, and One thousand face masks were handed over to the beneficiaries on Thursday May 7, 2020 at the Ntamulung Multi-purpose hall in Bamenda. Covid-19 Support Measures: Cameroon Gov't Rescues Economic Activities.

By Raymond Dingana The government of Cameroon has lifted the curfew imposed on economic activities to curb the spread of Covid-19. In a special declaration by Chief Dr. Dion Ngute, Cameroons Prime Minister signed April 30th, 2020, bars, restaurants and other leisure spots that were prohibited from operating after 6PM from the 17th of March 2020 are now free to close at any time. The declaration also insists on the obligatory wearing of protective masks by customers and to respect other barrier measures like social distancing. The transport sector that was already bleeding has breathed a sigh of relief. Fight Against Covid-19: Confirmatory Diagnosis For Covid-19 Now Possible In Bamenda.

By Raymond Dingana The fight against Covid-19 in Bamenda is taking a new dimension with the coming of diagnostic kits for screening. The announcement was made Saturday April 25, 2020 during a press briefing at the Regional Delegation of Public Health for the North West. As indicated by Dr. Kingsley Che Soh, NW Regional Delegate of Public Health, the coming of the machines which he siad is a great relief for them as the turn around time from sample collection to when the lab results are obtained will be significantly reduced. About the five confirmed cases, Dr. Kingsley Che Soh indicated that, they are being managed by competent services and are responding well to treatments. He added that, NW governor; Adolphe LeLe L’Afrique has requisitioned two hotels in Bamenda, which will act as quarantined centers. By Raymond Dingana The Wimbum community in Bamenda has challenged the government of Cameroon to give them befitting lives and not wait for them to die to be accorded befitting burials. Reacting to the portion of the inquiry report by the commission of inquiry to investigate what many now called the Ngar-Buh Massacre of Feb, 2020, many a Wimbum indigene asked the question as to whether the victims of the massacre have ever had a befitting life, asking why the corpses should be exhumed in the name of according them befitting burials. By Raymond Dingana Victims of Arson attacks caused by the Anglophone Crisis have begun receiving roofing sheets to enable them reconstruct their homes burnt down as a result of the crisis, Thursday April 23, 2020.The distribution exercise took place at the DO's office in Bambui, Tubah Sub Division. The two thousand roofing sheets worth seven million FCFA and a financial package of fifty thousand FCFA each were handed over to twenty two affected families in Bambui by Hon. Battle Against Covid-19: NACDA Creates Anti Covid-19 Task Forces.

By Raymond Dingana The Ndong Awing Cultural and Development Association-NACDA have created Anti- Covid-19 task forces to better contain the spread of the Virus in Awing village. The Task Forces are charged with making sure that, all the measures put in place to build a firm wall against the Virus are respected by all and sundry. The Funeral Task Force will make sure that, not more than 50 persons answer present at a funeral and the majority of the less than fifty mourners must come from the immediate family. The liters of hand sanitizer were handed over to closed to fifty members of the association during its monthly come together that took place in Nkwen, Friday April 10, 2020. While handing over the litters of hand sanitizers, North West Chapter President of CAMASEJ, Ambe MacMillan said the hand sanitizers were made available thanks to a joined effort of CAMASEJ and the Regional Delegation of Public Health for the North West. He furthered that, CAMASEJ benefited from a 25% discount offered to them by the NW Regional Delegation of Public Health. He added that, the hand sanitizers are not just for the journalists, inviting them to share with others.
