Covid-19 Battle: Fon Azehfor III Hands Over Kits, Promises Sanctions Against Defaulters.

By Raymond Dingana One hundred Hand wash stations of 220 liters each, six hundred liters of liquid soap amongst others have been distributed to the fifty eight quarters that make up the Nkwen Fondom and the Representatives of some religious and educational establishments in Nkwen to help arrest the spread of the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic. The items that were distributed by HRM, Fon Azehfor III of Nkwen, Sunday June 28, 2020 came thanks to the magnanimity of Sons and Daughters of Nkwen under the umbrella of the Nkwen Cultural and Development Association-NCDA. During the handover ceremony at the Nkwen Fon’s Palace, HRM, Fon Azehfor III extended words of thanks and appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of the event. Reconstruction Of NW/SW: Stake Holders Disagree With National Coordinator.

By Raymond Dingana Some stake holders in the plan to reconstruct and development the embittered North West and South West Regions of Cameroon have disagreed on whether reconstruction and development should come before peace of the other way round. During his five -day visit to the NWR that was aimed at creating awareness and sensitizing the beneficiaries of the Plan, the National Coordinator of the PPRD, Minister Tasong Paul said, reconstruction and development can go on without a complete return to peace. "We are aware of the disbelief of many and the bad faith of others. A question has been address to me many times to know if we can rebuild when peace has not yet fully returned. As I said in each occasion; as I will say tomorrow; I'm saying now that, the answer is a big yes. According to the document that was read by Mr.Ndzerem Stephen Njodzeka of SHUMAS,   the exchanges went beyond reconstruction and development as the participants saw the need for the return of peace to the region so that meaningful development can take place, the reconciliation of all sons and daughters of the region so that they can pull all our resources together and rebuild what the declaration described as the once beautiful, prosperous North West Region. Tasong Paul was speaking during a question and answer session with the Press, Friday June 26, 2020 on the last day of his five-day visit to Bamenda. By Raymond Dingana Hope For The Needy Association-HOFNA Cameroon has trained over one hundred disadvantaged Internally Displaced Women, Girls and Teenage Mothers in income generating activities and ways to combat Gender Based Violence. Thanks to five trainings and workshops organized in five Regions of the country as part of their National Initiative to End Violence Against Women and Girls (NITE-VAWG), sponsored by the German Mission to Cameroon, they can now produce soap for themselves which are expected to support them in curbing the spread of COVID-19 as well improving on their income generation, while the sanitary pads and beaded sandals will improve on their income generating capacities and livelihoods.
