Education: Teacher Discovered Dead In Bamenda, But What Really Happened?

  By Raymond Dingana Students and Teachers of Progressive Comprehensive High School, PCHS Bamenda are still in shock following the discovery of the lifeless body of Mr. Ibrahim, a teacher in the school. The body was found in a stream in mile 4, Bamenda III Sub Division in the early hours of Monday August 10, 2020 and buried Tuesday August 11 in his native Baba I, in Nkoketunjia Division of the NWR of Cameroon. Contrary to reports that, Mr. Ibrahim was killed by gun men, a source in mile four says, he had as accident: “ The incident happened in my quarter and I was one of the first to arrive the scene. It was the man's child that discovered the bike in a stream in mile four without knowing the bike was on his was on his father. They only realized the bike was on him after they retrieved it.   By  Raymond Dingana Many in Bamenda have been reacting to the recent outing by religious authorities in the North West Region of Cameroon accusing them of taking sides with government and not the suffering masses in the two restive regions of the country. This came days after news went wild that, religious leaders from Anglophone Cameroon have met in Douala and backed government's reconstruction and development plan for the regions. UNESCO Heritage Sites: Anger In Bafut As Palace Is Touched.

According to a source in Bafut who opted for anonymity, on Thursday August 06, 2020, men in military Uniforms stormed the palace and occupied the Bujong Cultural Hall which is part of the Royal Bafut Palace, included on a Tentative List Of World Heritage Site since 2006 by   UNESCO . “ On Saturday August 08, armed men in military attires have been moving in and out of the Palace saying, they are looking Fon Abumbi III of Bafut for what I don’t know. The constants power cut in Bambili and Tubah sub division as a whole has further compounded the already complicated procedure in the issuance of National Identity Cards. In a bid to salvage the situation, Hon. Agho Oliver of Bafut-Tubah Constituency donated a 4000kilowatts Generator to the Bambili Public Security Police Station on Monday July 20, 2020 where ID cards are issued. “I was passing one day around the police and I saw a crowd outside the police station. When i tried to find out, i was told they were there to establish I D cards. It is abnormal that, people will spend weeks to establish the document because of unstable electricity supply.
