CAMP Says Fake News, Misinformation, Infodemics Hindering Fight Against Covid-19

By Raymond Dingana The national president of the Cameroon Association of Media Professionals CAMP, Solomon Agborem says, fake news, misinformation, and infordemics are on the neck of the fight against the covid-19 pandemic. He explains that, fake news is information which is not true that is crafted to appear real, misinformation is information that is not accurate and deliberately intended to deceive and infordemics is toomuch information that is partening to a particular subject that has to do with health. He furthers that, if all these are put together, it will be difficult for the population to be informed appropriately. Killing Of Child In Buea: Government Calls For Calm, Vows To Punish Culprits

By Raymond Dingana The government of Cameroon has called for calm after an angry mob in Buea took to the streets denouncing the killing of five-year-old Caro Ndialle by a uniform officer. Though the events leading to the incident are not clear, there is a school of thought that said the driver of the car was trying to park her car when the officer opened fire on the Molyko -Bwitingi stretch of road behind the Molyko Omnisport Stadium. According to the governor of the South West Region, Okalai Bilai, the uniform officer opened fire when the lady driving the car refused to stop when she was asked to. By Raymond Dingana In a bid to quench the fire ignited by the ongoing crisis rocking the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon, the Head of State, President Paul Biya okayed the Major National Dialogue, MND which took place between September 30th and October 4th, 2019. The initiative that brought together delegates drawn from the ten regions of the national triangle finally gave birth to 80 recommendations. The second anniversary of the MND was observed few days back at a time when the recommendations arrived at are still being implemented. According to a document titled  "the Compendium of government action/measures to address the situation in the south west and north west region of cameroon ," thanks to the MND,  the Special Status which was born. It was placed under law number 2019/024 of December 24th 2019 and was to institute the General Code of Regional and Local Authorities.
