Women In Leadership: Bar Akuma Bih Miranda Regains NtaCCUL's Presidency, With Focus On Empowering Women

NtaCCUL's President, Bar Akumah Bih Miranda  By Anne-Valien Berinyuy  On March 1st, a day in the month celebrating women, Akuma Miranda made history by regaining her position as president of the Ntarinkon Cooperative Credit Union Limited (NtaCCUL) for the next three years. After serving diligently on the Board of Directors, the members wanted her to take on an even greater leadership role as President. In her third year on the board, she was elected President in 2025. She could continue on the board if her mandate as a board member is renewed. This renewal would also give her the chance to seek another term as president if NtaCCUL members chose to support her again, which they did in a big way. During the NtaCCUL's 39th Annual General Assembly Meeting held at Bamenda Municipal Stadium on March 1, 2026, members showed their strong support for Bar. Akuma Bih Miranda. This historical event also saw the installation of a twenty member cabinet by the Fon tasked with driving the village's development forward. The ceremony, a blend of spirituality and tradition, highlighted the community's deep respect for its heritage and aspirations for the future.
