Presidential Couple Donates Humanitarian Aid To Vulnerable Families In Bamenda

  Bikers After Receiving Their Bags Of Rice and Others By Anne-Valien Around 500 vulnerable families in Bamenda have received humanitarian aid, including rice and blankets, delivered by Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji on behalf of the presidential couple. This event took place on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the office of the Senior Divisional Officer of Mezam. Speaking to the crowd, Minister Atanga Nji stated,  " The presidential couple wants you to spread the message of solidarity in Bamenda. That’s why the vulnerable families have received rice and blankets." In addition to the aid, Minister Atanga Nji also announced that commercial motorbike riders in Bamenda would receive free fuel for one month, with all costs covered by the Head of State and his wife. This teamwork helped recover the body of 25-year-old Agyingi Hamlet, who drowned in a stream on Sonack Street in Bamenda. Taku made this statement after Agyingi's body was found in Mulang, a day after he drowned on September 29, 2025. "I want to thank the community for their support. This shows they care. Thanks to our joint efforts, we were able to recover the victim's body, about 18 kilometers from where he fell,"  Taku said. They were stopped at a place called 'Door Market, a neighborhood in Bambili, Tubah Sub Division, North West Region of Cameroon. A 10-year-old girl was raped, and both passengers and drivers were assaulted. Their vehicles were damaged, and phones, money, and other valuables were taken. Victims reported that the attackers were heavily armed and had been ambushing people without any response from security forces.  "We have been suffering on that road for the past two months. The attackers stop vehicles and drag passengers into the bushes, where women are raped, and valuables are stolen," said a driver in a video circulating on social media . On Sunday, September 28, 2025, while residents of Awing in Santa Sub Division, North West Region (NWR) and traders from far and near were out trying to earn a living, gunshots rang out. Many, including the elderly, young children, and people with disabilities, sought safety. "At first, we thought the gunshots were from separatists. Hon Joshua Osih In Bamenda For Presidential Campaign Launch By Raymond Dingana The Social Democratic Front (SDF) presidential candidate, Hon. Josua Osih, stated that the people have suffered enough under the CPDM government for 42 years. He made this remark on Saturday, September 27, 2025, during the official launch of the party's campaign at the Grandstand in Bamenda, ahead of the October 12 presidential election. At the campaign launch, Osih emphasized that the SDF has deep roots in Bamenda, and much of the freedom enjoyed in Cameroon today originated there, often at a great cost to people's lives.
