Baba Danpullo Suffers Xenophobic Attacks In South Africa, Loses Properties Worth Billions

Baba Danpullo, Wealthiest Man In Francophone Africa By Raymond Dingana Cameroonian-born businessman, El Hadj Baba Ahmadou Danpullo who is said to be the wealthiest man in Francophone Africa is reported to be under severe xenophobic attacks in South Africa. The FNB greedily and violently decided in early 2020 to seize and liquidate all of Danpullo’s properties in South Africa, valued at approximately R5 billion ($277 million). Mr Danpullo has been in South Africa for over 35 years, creating employment from many of his investments.  The properties are managed by Bestinver Company South Africa Ltd, Joburg Skyscraper Pty Ltd, and Bestinver Prop 01 Proprietary Ltd, which are all subsidiaries of Bestinver, the group he founded. Combined, the loans that the FNB bank has granted to these various companies amounted to R615 million in October 2017. Repayment, at around R10m per month, was to be spread over ten years. Mayor Paul Achobong of the Bamenda City Council said the figures are mere budgetary projections, and not effective recoveries, and that it would need the collaboration of all for it to be realized. The donation of school bags, books, pens, pencils among others came barely weeks to the start of the 2022/2023 academic year. I started witnessing the pain the victims of the voilent arson attacks are going through when i arrived Hospital Round About. I saw red eyes looking people with long faces all supporting their jaws with their hands.                     House And Cars Burnt They sat in front of the seven shops that were burnt by men in military uniforms at Hospital Roundabout. Many other businesses around the area did not open their doors, some say it was in solidarity while others say they did not open their businesses because of fear. SNWOT:New Leadership, Same Mission, Fresh Approach

By Raymond Dingana The Southwest, Northwest Women's Task Force(SNWOT) now has a new team to pilot its affairs in its quest to see peace bounce back in the two restive regions of Cameroon.  The new exco with Sarah-Derval Ephosi Lifanda at the helm was voted in to office during an Elective General Assembly of the Task Force that held in Douala recently. She replaces Sally Mboumein who occupied the offi ce for two years. SNWOT's mission has been to call for dialogue, cease fire and to ensure that women and girls are safe in the crisis hit Northwest and Southwest regions of Cameroon. The new exco is coming at a time when peace is still being seen as a rare commodity in the two troubled regions of Cameroon with many asking what the new squad is bringing in to achieve same goal which is Peace.
