CBC Health Services Launches Scholarship For Persons With Disabilities

November 10, 2020 marked another milestone in the work of the CBC Health Services to persons with disabilities. The day witnessed the official launching of a Scholarship Service for Children and Youths with Disabilities in Cameroon managed by the Services for Persons with Disability (SPD) program of the CBC Health Services. The scholarship is run with funds donated by Organisations and individuals with interest in specific disability areas. The launching took place virtually in respect to COVID-19 preventive measures and brought together potential donors and beneficiaries of the Scholarship from within and out of Cameroon. The Director of the CBC Health Services, Prof. Tih Pius Muffih used the occasion to present background information on the work of the institution with respect to support for children with disabilities in general and education in particular. By Raymond Dingana What bike riders may have considered a Christmas celebration in  November has  ended in pain. Many bikes were seized by security forces Friday morning, a bike rider has confirmed. He said the bikes were seized because the owners attempted what they did on Thursday thinking things were going to be the same. It was all celebration when on Thursday, Novemeber 12,2020, uniform officers stayed away from the streets of Bamenda thereby enabling bike riders to freely circulate going to areas they had been restricted from for the pass weeks. This was put to a stop when uniform men could be seen at some of the major streets and junctions in the town. He died when fire engulfed his room Monday November 9, 2020. Reports say, he would have been rescued if the door of his room was not locked from inside. As stated by a neighbor, Nelbini locked the door because he was trying to tamper with the fuel before taking it to the market: “He came back, lit the stove and started mixing the fuel. By Raymond Dingana The Presbyterian Church Sop in Jakiri ,Bui Division of the North West Region has lost its aged old Church bell to those eye withesses say were pro independence fighters. Acording to Wirgo Godblesss,the boys came saying they needed the bell to produce war weapons and face those they called their enemy: "There were five of them claiming to be seperatist fighters stormed Presbyterian Church Sop and collected the church bell in broad day. They said the bell was raw material for the production of bullets," Wirngo said. For Illustration. Covid-19 Bamenda: Sero- Prevalence Survey Launched, But How Important Is It?

  By Raymond Dingana According to the Regional Delegate of Public Health for the North West Region, Dr. Kingsley Che Soh, the importance of the Covid-19 Sero-Prevalence Survey is that, it will not only reveal the Prevalence of the disease but say whether after being infected, one can be re-infected et al: “The survey will first of all help us know the situation of the disease in the region especially in our context. Secondly, it will enable us know if persons who have been tested positive have developed immunity to the disease because ,the survey is going to be measuring the levels of anti bodies to Covid-19 to the subjects for whom the blood samples will be collected. It is going to inform us whether we are immune to the virus or whether after being infected, we can be re-infected,”    Dr Kingsley explained during the launching ceremony. Does it really make sense? I don’t think so.  What happened in Kumba was a big shame to us and we should always be guided by our consciences before doing things.
