NW Security Meeting: Commercial Bikers Warned Against Carrying More Than One At A Time.

By Raymond Dingana. Commercial bike riders in Bamenda and the North West Region of Cameroon have been warned against carrying more than one person at a time. The warning came from Territorial Administration Minister, Atanga Nji Paul during a Security Evaluation Meeting that took place at the NW Governor’s office, Thursday November 07, 2019: “ A motor cycle has to carry just one passenger. A motor cycle cannot carry four people and most of the time, when they carry four people; you have two kidnapped people who are on the bike ” . Minister Atanga Nji Paul said.  During the security evaluation meeting, commercial bike riders in the NWR also came under fire from Minister Atanga Nji Paul who says they have been implicated in many atrocities in the Region. He says bike riders have masterminded kidnappings and have committed many other atrocities inviting them to adhere to instructions by government to comply with the minimum requirements for them to exercise their profession. He

The Coach of Yong Sport Academy, Coach Nkabyuo Martin has congratulated PWD Bamenda after bowing to the team by one goal to nothing in a highly contested match, Wednesday November 06, 2019. The Local Darby, first of its kind as far as the two teams from the same region are concerned that was played at the Yong Sport Training Centre at Ntenefor,Mile six Nkwen Bamenda, recorded the lone goal of the match at the 48"minutes of play. The North West Chapter President of the Cameroon Journalists Trade Union, CJTU has appealed to State and Non-State actors in the armed conflict rocking the NW/SW Regions of Cameroon to accept the Press Vest recently handed over to Journalists who are members of CJTU as identification for Media Organs. Bakah Derick was speaking Sunday November 03, 2019 during the distribution ceremony of Press Vests to members of CJTU at Hill Top Hotel, Up Station-Bamenda. By Raymond Dingana . Three suspected Ambazonia fighters from Babessi have been killed in Bangolan in Ndop, Ngoketunjia Division of the North West Region of Cameroon, Saturday November 02, 2019. Though the circumstances surrounding their deaths still remain unclear, eye witness accounts are indicating that, the three were killed when they were on one of their routine controls at the Bangolan market that was met with stiff resistance from those in Bangolan. The resistance later degenerate into a serious clash between the two camps leading to the death of three of those from Babessi while two others sustained life threatening wounds. During the workshop that took place, Thursday October 31, 2019 at the Conference Hall of the Regional Hospital in Bamenda that brought together Journalists, Bloggers and Civil Society Organizations, one of the facilitators, Digital Rights Activist, Rosaline Akah Obah schooled participants on the basic principles of Human Rights Vis-à-vis Digital Rights in Africa and Cameroon in particular . “ Human rights are standards that allow all people to live with  D ignity, F reedom, E quality, J ustice , and  P eace.   She also said, Digital R ights  are those  Human Rights  and Legal Rights that allow individuals to access, use, create, and publish  Digital  media online. Latest From The Bafoussam Landslide: 4 Pregnant Women Among 42 Corpses Retrieved.

Latest information from the Bafoussam landslide is indicating that, more bodies have been pulled out of  debris of the landslide that occurred on the night of Monday breaking Tuesday  October 29, 2019 at about 10PM. Sources on the ground are indicating that, closed to ten more bodies have been retrieved putting the death toll at 42 from 37 as earlier reported.Ten women including four pregnant women, eleven boys, and fifteen girls between the ages of six and fifteen were among the victims of the landslide when nature turned its ugly face on the inhabitants of Ngouachie, in Bafoussam III, West Region of Cameroon on the night of Monday breaking Tuesday, October 29, 2019. Reports also say, the Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul and that of Housing and Urban Development, Celestine Ketcha paid a visit to survivors of the landslide at the Bafoussam Regional Hospital where they are being treated. Bafoussam Landslide: 37 Corpses Retrieved, About 20 Persons Unaccounted For.

Reports from the Ngouachie , a neighborhood in Bafoussam III Sub Division, West Region of Cameroon say, closed to Thirty Seven corpses have been retrieved from the  landslide that occurred Monday October 28 th , 2019 at about 10PM. Reports also indicate that, the landslide occurred following heavy down pour over the week end. It is also reported that, eleven houses were buried in the landslide which is also said to have buried closed to fifty persons. Latest reports say, the Thirty Seven corpses retrieved by a local rescue team in the area have been deposited at the mortuary. Efforts are still on the way to retrieve more bodies. “A Concerted Effort Will Free The NWR From HIV”–PROF. TIH PIUS MUFFIH.

By Raymond Dingana. The Director of the CBC Health Services, Professor Tih Pius Muffih has prescribed a Concerted Effort to free the NWR of Cameroon from HIV. He was speaking at the launching ceremony of the HIV- free COP 2019 Project to target 30000 new cases of HIV infected persons in the NWR and placed them under treatment . “ For the NWR to be free from HIV, we need a concerted effort. Every health care provider should work in a concerted way with the region. It is one project for the region and everybody that is involved in health care should be a part of the project so that we can bring the epidemic under control. Launching Of COP 19 Project: Worsening Anglophone Crisis Hampering HIV Service Delivery In The NWR.

The Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services, CBCHS has frowned at the ongoing armed conflict in the North West Region of Cameron for standing on the way of HIV service delivery in the Region. The was during the launching ceremony of  the Country Operation Plan,COP 19 Project Year in the NWR, Thursday October 24, 2019 in the Conference Hall of the North West Regional Fund for Health Promotion. Because of security challenges brought about by the crisis, many have been displaced making HIV Service Delivery a daunting task.  In a bid to free the Region from the claws of HIV, the CBC Health Services will be implementing the HIV-Free North West Project in thirty Health Facilities carved from Fifteen Health Districts which represent in total, 80% of persons leaving with HIV in the Region supported by the US President’s Emergency fund for AIDS Relief also known as PEPFAR through the Center For Disease Control and Prevention also known as CDC.
