By Raymond Dingana Persons with Disabilities in Bamenda say, the fight against covid-19 is not inclusive reasons why they have been facing a lot of difficulties .Speaking to DrayInfos recently, the North West Regional President of the Coordinating Unit of the Associations of Persons with Disabilities, Mr. Fru Chick Sama said, one of the challenges has to do with communication. “ Most of the communication is done without considering the needs of persons with disabilities. The items made up of more than one hundred Bucket Taps of 50liters each, Hand Sanitizers, Cartons of Soap, and One thousand face masks were handed over to the beneficiaries on Thursday May 7, 2020 at the Ntamulung Multi-purpose hall in Bamenda. Covid-19 Support Measures: Cameroon Gov't Rescues Economic Activities.

By Raymond Dingana The government of Cameroon has lifted the curfew imposed on economic activities to curb the spread of Covid-19. In a special declaration by Chief Dr. Dion Ngute, Cameroons Prime Minister signed April 30th, 2020, bars, restaurants and other leisure spots that were prohibited from operating after 6PM from the 17th of March 2020 are now free to close at any time. The declaration also insists on the obligatory wearing of protective masks by customers and to respect other barrier measures like social distancing. The transport sector that was already bleeding has breathed a sigh of relief. Fight Against Covid-19: Confirmatory Diagnosis For Covid-19 Now Possible In Bamenda.

By Raymond Dingana The fight against Covid-19 in Bamenda is taking a new dimension with the coming of diagnostic kits for screening. The announcement was made Saturday April 25, 2020 during a press briefing at the Regional Delegation of Public Health for the North West. As indicated by Dr. Kingsley Che Soh, NW Regional Delegate of Public Health, the coming of the machines which he siad is a great relief for them as the turn around time from sample collection to when the lab results are obtained will be significantly reduced. About the five confirmed cases, Dr. Kingsley Che Soh indicated that, they are being managed by competent services and are responding well to treatments. He added that, NW governor; Adolphe LeLe L’Afrique has requisitioned two hotels in Bamenda, which will act as quarantined centers. Ngar-Buh Inquiry Report: Wimbum Community Demands Befitting Lives, Not Befitting Burials.

By Raymond Dingana The Wimbum community in Bamenda has challenged the government of Cameroon to give them befitting lives and not wait for them to die to be accorded befitting burials. Reacting to the portion of the inquiry report by the commission of inquiry to investigate what many now called the Ngar-Buh Massacre of Feb, 2020, many a Wimbum indigene asked the question as to whether the victims of the massacre have ever had a befitting life, asking why the corpses should be exhumed in the name of according them befitting burials. As indicated by Nfor, an indigene of Ndu in Ndonga Mantung Division of the North West Region of Cameroon, befitting burials is a misplaced priority : “ The people of Ngar-Buh and other areas in Ndonga Mantung Division need a befitting life and not a befitting burial.
