Covid-19 Battle: Mayor Of Nkor Appeals To 'Amba' Fighters To Join Fight.

The Mayor of Nkor Council, Dr. Nchanji Ndi Germanus has made a clarion appeal to pro independence fighters operating in his area to rather join the fight against Covid-19 than trying to disrupt it. Mayor Dr. Nchanji Ndi Germanus was speaking to DrayInfos, Friday May 08, 2020.
“Covid-19 is real, it has killed a lot of people reasons why all of us must fight as one man if the pandemic must be defeated. My appeal to the armed fighters is for them to join in the fight against Covid-19 because the virus is non respecter of persons. It can attack just any one irrespective of your position in life. When I purchased some anti covid-19 kits and was taken them to Noni, we were stopped along the way and our vehicle was searched. They saw the hand sanitizers and collected theirs, a clear indication that, some have understood the fact that, covid-19 is a common enemy which must be dealt with”. Mayor Dr. Nchanji Ndi Germanus said.

Despite the security challenges faced in the fight against Covid-19 in Nkor-Noni, the mayor said the council has been able to score some goals. “The council has done a lot against Covid-19.Nkor council started off by making the people understand that this virus is real. Since it is real, we have to fight against it. We have purchased hundreds of Bucket taps, Cartons of soap, Hand sanitizers, and Face masks which we distributed to all the villages under Nkor council. Unfortunately, the villages of Djottin and Din have not had because the armed men there have been a stumbling block to our efforts. My appeal to them is to help save the lives of the population”.
He added that, the council has sent out councilors to njangi houses and others including markets, to educate the people on the importance of regular hand washing, and the other measures put in place by W.H.O and government to limit the spread of the virus. If all resources are channeled towards the fight against Covid-19, the mayor said, the lives of the population must have been protected.
Nkor council area swallows up the entire Noni Sub Division which is found in Bui Division of the North West Region of Cameroon. The present mayor, Dr. Nchanji Ndi Germanus took over from Dr. Wache Francis of blessed memory.

Road Accident Leaves Two Persons Dead Along Bamenda-Bambili Stretch

Chattered Vehicles As A Result Of Accident  By Raymond Dingana Township taxi drivers in Bamenda are still in shock following the death of one of theirs who died alongside his passenger at the Mile 6 neighborhood in Nkwen, on the Bamenda-Bambili road, Friday March 15, 2024. The accident that didn't only take away lives but caused enormous damages on the two vehicles involved has been attributed to over speeding. "The black private car was on top speed when it suddenly found itself on the other said of the road colliding with the taxi. The occupants of the private owned vehicle fled the scene after the accident. The vehicle was coming from the Mile 6 direction while the taxi was heading towards Bamenda, " explained a witness. The passenger whose only name drayinfos got as Tigwe died on the spot, while the driver of the Starlet vehicle died later at the Regional Hospital in Bamenda. Bamenda: Population Protests Killing Of Civilian By Uniform Officer

  Cross Section Of Protesting Crowd At Up Station  By Raymond Dingana The early hours of Thursday April 4,2024 was a tensed one at the Bamenda I council area following the stabbing to death of the young man identified as Junior Awazi popularly known as BJ by a uniform officer in civilian attire. The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday breaking Thursday April 4 in a beer parlor at Up Station, Bamenda I Council area. The population was out in the streets expressing their grievances demanding justice for the slain young man. " It all started when the uniform officer in civilian attire wounded a girl's hand after she rejected his love advances.
