The sound was so loud that it was heard from far away Nkwen. We are yet to get information as to whether any one was wounded or not. Bamenda Denizens' Expectations from Regional Council

By Raymond Dingana  The population of Bamenda in the North West Region of Cameroon have expressed the wish to see the bottom-top appraoch of operating by the Regional Council. They were speaking to DrayInfos after the installation of the pioneer executive of the regional council, Saturday January 23. They say, the region is facing a number of challenges that need the undivided attention of the council.  Genuine dialogue to pave the way for sustainable peace, road infrastructure, water and energy among others are some of the areas they pointed out. "They should work for the people and not themselves. They should not impose on us,rather,they should asked us what are needs are and work to satisfy them."Tumi Romaric said. GBV: Suspected Separatist Fighters Strip Women Naked

By Raymond Dingana A video has image online showing women being tortured and molested by armed men suspcted to be fighters fighting to create a state of their own which they called Ambazonia. According to the voices in the video,whose authenticity and the location it was shot have not been indipendently confirmed by drayinfos, the women were accused of dating security officials. The women are seen siting naked and being interogated by the boys. One of the boys is heard in the video asking for pepper to use on the women's private part. It is not clear what may have  happened to the women after the video. The video has received wide spread condemnation from far and wide. Some are asking if those treating them in that manner have mothers or were actually brought to this world by women. Bamenda and Mbengwi  are the latest to have been hit by  Improvised Explosive Device, Tuesday January 19,2021, a day after the Minister of Territorial Administration said, President Paul Biya has won the war against Separatist fighters. In the town of Bamenda, a lady who deals in animal feed and her daughter were wounded when a locally made explosive went off around T-junction Tuesday afternoon. The debris from the exlosive had trappings that, the Cameroon military has linked to separatist's activities in the past. Both were rushed to the hospital for medical attention. Properties including those that belonged to the wounded lady were destroyed when the device went off.  By Raymond Dingana The minister of Territorial Administration has saluted the fruitfulness of what he describes as  President Paul Biya's call for separatist fighters to drop their weapons and abandon the bushes. He pointed out that,many separatist fighters have continued to lay down their weapons and are having a new life at the Centre for Disarmament,Dimobilization and Reintegration-DDR. He also indicated that, five separatist fighters handed their weapons to a village head at about 10:30pm on monday. The identity and  name of the village were never disclosed.  " The fighters handed their weapons to their fon at about 10:30 Pm on the night of Monday after the security meeting we had. Sources say,she and her fiance' were traveling to Douala to shop for their upcoming wedding that was supposed to take place on the 15 and16 of January. By Raymond Dingana The President of the Nigerian Union in Bamenda, Prince Otobong Ituen has said he has put last month’s attempt on his life behind him and forgiven his attackers. Prince Otobong Ituen is just recovering from his hospital bed after he was attacked on November 18 by unidentified armed men. Recalling the incident recently during a thanksgiving service at the Church of Christ in Bamenda, Prince Otobong said he was saved thanks to the grace of God. He stressed he had long put the incident behind him and asked God to forgive all those who made an attempt on his life. “Christ teaches us to forgive against those that trespass against us. By Raymond Dingana The Mayor of the Bamenda City Council, Paul Achobang has described a journalist working for Abakwa FM Radio as not being  normal  when he sought to know from him why Mayors, Members of parliament and others find it difficult to press for another dialogue to end the war in the two restive regions of the country.
