  Compiled By Raymond Dingana Crowd Justice Send One To Premature Grave A suspected member of a gang that has been terrorizing inhabitants of Bamenda III in Nkwen and beyond has been beaten to death at Mbelem, a neighborhood in that sub division, North West Region of Cameroon. Reports say they were three in number when the population stormed their hideout when they were in a deep slumber. The door was forced opened and the three boys pulled out. One managed to escape while two were not that fortunate. One could not withstand the severe pain he got from the pounding and had to give up the ghost. The other was rescued by security forces while one managed to break away from the mob. Stranded Vehicles At Bamenyam, West Region Of Cameroon   By Raymond Dingana The road linking Bamenyam in the West Region of Cameroon with Bali Gashu, Bali Kumbat, Bali Gansi, Awing all in the crisis hit North West Region of the country is yet to be reopened after members of the village vigilante community mounted roadblocks protesting the kidnapping of villagers. According to TFY News, two girls were abducted on Sunday September 3,2023 by unidentified individuals with accusing fingers pointing at suspected separatist fighters. This didn't go do down well with the population of that area who alongside the village vigilante (anti gang) blocked the roads saying only the release of the victims would give them reason to reopen the roads. At press time, witnesses say learners who were supposed to have resumed classes out of the North West Region were still held in Bamenyam village. Heavy Gun Battles Mar School Resumption In The North West Region.

The 2019/2020 academic year in the North West Region has taken off amidst heavy gun battles between Cameroon’s security forces and Pro Independence fighters, Monday September 02, 2019. Coupled   with the ghost town and lock down operations called for by separatist leaders abroad and enforced by armed men on the ground, parts of Mezam, Bui, Ndonga Mantung, Nkoketunjia, Menchum and Boyo Divisions got up to thunderous gun shots that forced many to stay indoors. In Bamenda, streets in the neighborhoods of Nkwen, Travelers, Nanga Junction, Ntarinkon, and many others were disserted following heavy gun battles between Cameroon’s security forces and Pro Independence fighters .All these affected school resumption in the region negatively as many were forced to stay indoors. The North West Chapter President of the Cameroon Journalists Trade Union, CJTU has appealed to State and Non-State actors in the armed conflict rocking the NW/SW Regions of Cameroon to accept the Press Vest recently handed over to Journalists who are members of CJTU as identification for Media Organs. Bakah Derick was speaking Sunday November 03, 2019 during the distribution ceremony of Press Vests to members of CJTU at Hill Top Hotel, Up Station-Bamenda. In addition, Bakah Derick underscored the need for State and Non-State Actors to respect all those who wear the Vests as Journalists with reputation whom are only out to do their job. The information on the alleged death of Wazizi was aired by Equinox TV on its 8PM news cast, Tuesday June 02, 2020. Journalists are now calling on the government of Cameroon to bring out proof to ascertain whether Wazizi is death of alive and that if he is truly death, let his remains be handed over to them for a befitting burial. Bamenda Bombing: Nigerians Suffer Huge losses, Union President Appeals For Help

By Raymond Dingana The Nigerian union President in Bamenda, Prince Otobong Ituen has appealed to both the presidents of Cameroon and Nigeria to come to the aid of victims of what is now known as Women’s Day bomb attack in Bamenda, chief town of the NWR of Cameroon. He was speaking to DrayInfos Tuesday March 10, 2020 at the secretariat of the Nigerian union in Bamenda. According to Prince Otobong, the victims lost all what they have worked for more than 20years saying the governments of Cameroon and Nigeria should consider given them a helping hand. “I want to appeal to the country of Cameroon and Nigeria to deem it necessary to consider assisting these victims of the fire outbreak triggered by the bomb blast. CCMN: Journalists, Civil Society Sharpen Skills On Conflict Sensitive Reporting.

About sixty journalists and members of the civil society who belong to the Cameroon Community Media Network, CCMN from the North West, West, South West and Littoral Regions of Cameroon have been armed with the necessary tools to report on conflict situations. This was during a 3-day workshop on crises reporting that took place in Bafoussam from Sunday August 18 to Tuesday August 20 ,2019. Organized by the Peace Journalism and Conflict Transformation Project of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, the project whose main beneficiary is the Cameroon Community Media Network and its members was aimed at schooling journalists and members of the civil society on the role they are to play in bringing Humanitarian needs to the affected communities. This has been worsened by the armed conflict devastating lives in the two English speaking regions of Cameroon where armed groups are fighting to creat a state they call Ambazonia. The violations are not only perpetrated by the warring parties but by partners in relationships, family members, acquaintance, amonsgt others. During a one day capacity building workshop for female lawyers, theologians, journalists including some of their male counterparts to raise awareness on the Maputo protocol on Wednesday, organized by Pearl Foundation April 17th, it was realized that grassroots women suffer a lot because of the culture of silence, and lack resources to persue court cases against their violators. Press Freedom: Journalist Wawa Jackson Leaves Prison

 Wawa Jackson Nfor, a Bamenda based journalist has left prison after spending close to three years behind bars at the Nkambe prison. He was arrested on his way back from the village and locked up about three years ago.He finally regained his freedom, Friday February 20,2021.  The last media organ, Wawa Jackson worked for was Abakwa Fm Radio in Bamenda.
