Public Independent Conciliator North West Region, Tamfu Simon Fai Welcoming Participants By Raymond Dingana While opening a two-day seminar on Rights, Duties and Ethical Compliance In Regional Council Functioning, the Public Independent Conciliator (PIC) for the Nerth West, Tamfu Simon Fai emphasized on the mission of the institution. This came after it's been rumoured that the Office of the PIC has come to police council's causing the PIC to reiterate why the institution was created: "while rectifying the already misconception that the PIC has come to police councils which I have been hearing, permit me reiterate here that the PIC has only three roles which are the role of Pacificator, Watchdog, and Advocate of councils. Focusing on the watchdog role which others see as the policing role will simply dilute the other very key roles of pacificator and advocate if councils," said Tamfu Fai. PIC's Workshop With Mayors: Don't Involve Council Workers In Political Campaigns-Nina Ambuban

By Raymond Dingana During her presentation on Non- Discrimination and Mainstreaming Inclusiveness in Council Functioning at a two-day seminar on Duties and Ethical Compliance in Regional and Council Services, Thursday October 27,2022 organized by the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator [OPIC] for the North West, Ambuban cautioned mayors against dragging their workers in to election campaigns. Nina Ambuban Schooling Mayors On Non- Discrimination And Mainstreaming Inclusiveness In Council Functioning She explained that such acts go a long way to disfavor the workers especially in a situation where a new mayors comes in: "During political campaigns, mayors move out with council staff and if the mayor is not maintained, the incoming mayor will want to discriminate against the staff because they campaign against him or her. Some might even be dismissed and this will mean their Rights have been voilated. Council workers should be allow to chose their political parties, "

Bus On Fire In Transport Agency In Bamenda By Raymond Dingana Shock and consternation is still the order of the day in Bamenda after a bus went off in flames at a travel agency in Bamenda, war ravaged North West Region of Cameroon Thursday October 27,2022 in the evening hours. We gathered from witnesses who did not want to be named that the said bus packed at the agency located at Food Market road around Small Mankon called Nso Boys suddenly went up in flames. Persons Trying To Put Out The Flames It is not clear if the agency was visited by arsonists or what happened there was just an accident. Only investigtions will unravel the mystry behind the fire incident at Nso Boys. Details are still coming in.

Family Picture Of Staff Of Independent Conciliator North West And Mayors By Raymond Dingana Some council workers working with Local and Regional Councils in the North West Region of Cameroon have appealed to the office of the Public Independent Conciliator (PIC) for the region to defend  and promote their Rights. Speaking during a two-day seminar on Rights, Duties and Ethical Compliance in Council Functioning organized by the PIC, Thursday October 27,2022, Samba Cletus, Council Developement Officer, Misaje council pleaded with PIC to clip the wings of mayors who don't respect the rights of workers: "Council workers are dismissed without taking in to consideration what the labor code says. Those who suffer the more are workers who don't belong to the same political party with the new mayors. This is why we are pleading with the PIC to check the excesses of these mayors and stop them from discriminating against council workers who don't belong to the same political party

Rural Women's Day: As Women Decry Poor Harvest, Others, SNWOT, WFP Introduce Better Farming Techniques

By Raymond Dingana During activities to mark the 2022 edition of the International Day of Rural Women in Bambili, North West Region of Cameroon, Saturday October 15,2022 ,the South West, North West Women Task Force (SNWOT) in partnership with World Food Program (WFP) brought in an agric technician to educate more than 50 women on better farming practices.
