FEHACU 2021: Community leaders pledge to ensure festival success

Community Leaders from across Bamenda III municipality have reaffirmed their commitment to ensure the maiden edition of the Council festival of Heritage Arts and Cultures (FEHACU) is a success.

The leaders expressed their satisfaction and readiness to accompany the organising committee during a meeting on Wednesday 3 November 2021, at the Council premises.

Explaining why the community leaders made of Quarter Heads, Women and Youth leaders were convened for a meeting, the convenor Mayor Fongu Cletus Tanwe on behalf of the festival steering committee expressed happiness with the massive turnout and noted that this was in no small way an exceptional show of love for Municipality, villages and Cultures.

While calling on quarterheads to play their role as frontline protectors and promoters of culture, Mayor Fongu encouraged the women and youth to take active part and fully participate because they are the people to take the relay to protect our heritage.

Separate presentations by Bakah Derick Head of the communications and Marketing Committee, Muma Azehfor Member of the steering committee and Ndzelen Margaret First deputy Mayor reiterated the festival's engagement towards inclusion before, during and after the festival, involvement of everyone with all arts and craft initiatives in the municipality and the claiming of the festival ownership by the youth.





Committee Leaders At The Meeting


The Fon of Nkwen HRM Fon Azehfor III of Nkwen challenged the community leaders to ensure effective representation of their quarters. According to the Fon, the festival provides Nkwen and Ndzah people a rare opportunity to showcase their cultures to the world.

Questions from the community leaders, expressed an unmatched desire to participate as they question every aspect of registration and selection of participants.

Scheduled from the 26-28 of November 2021, preparations for the Bamenda III Festival of Heritage Arts and Cultures (FEHACU) are on good course with several prevents expected to come before the festival proper.
