Resolving Anglophone Crisis: What Ex- Combatants At DDR Bamenda Think

  By Raymond Dingana Some Ex Combatants at the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Center in Bamenda have added their voices to those sounding the trumpet of dailogue as the only panacea to end the four year old war that has continued to ravage lives and properties in the North West and South West Regions. Talking to DrayInfos , Tuesday November 10, 2020 at the center when the Mayor of Bamenda II Council, Peter Chenwi came visiting with goodies for them, they said the persistent killings will not bring the war to an end. This is coming after commercial bikers could be seen circulating within the restricted areas of the town of Bamenda. Some are moving in and out areas at up Station they were barred from circulating, commercial avenue too,city chemist and many others have commercial bikescirculating unperturbed. No reason has been advanced to explain this latest development. Bamenda:Fuel Vendor Dies In Fire Outbreak

By Raymond Dingana Shock and consternation is still the order of the day at the cow street neighborhood in Bamenda following the death of Nelbini Layssoua, a security guard working with Total filling station in Nkwen. He died when fire engulfed his room Monday November 9, 2020. Reports say, he would have been rescued if the door of his room was not locked from inside. As stated by a neighbor, Nelbini locked the door because he was trying to tamper with the fuel before taking it to the market: “He came back, lit the stove and started mixing the fuel. His junior brother said he warned him to stop or take it outside but he declined saying neighbors were going to see what he was doing. He said he decided to move out when Nelbini decided to lock the door,” a neighbor recounted what the junior brother to the deceased told them. Funeral Of Kumba Students:Preacher Laments,Says Those Dying Are The Poor

By Raymond Dingana During the funeral ceremony of the seven students killed when gun men attacked the Mother Francisca International Bilingual Academy in Kumba, Rev.Eka Martin from the Apostolic Church decried the killings saying those suffering are the poor while the rich despite knowing the answer to the crisis have refused to provide solutions. "Those suffering in this crisis are the poor people.They are the ones who are in the bushes,it is the poor who are hidding under the rocks in the forest. It is the poor who cannot sell their farm produce any more in the market.T he rich, they have all what it takes to go to Douala, Yaounde and Bafoussam and sponsor their children in schools but these children who are dead here today are children of poor people. Armed Men Seize Church Bell In Sop

By Raymond Dingana The Presbyterian Church Sop in Jakiri ,Bui Division of the North West Region has lost its aged old Church bell to those eye withesses say were pro independence fighters. Acording to Wirgo Godblesss,the boys came saying they needed the bell to produce war weapons and face those they called their enemy: "There were five of them claiming to be seperatist fighters stormed Presbyterian Church Sop and collected the church bell in broad day. They said the bell was raw material for the production of bullets," Wirngo said. For Illustration. He added that,they were at the same church sometimes last year.Thanks to pleas from the church pastor, they left without the church bell. He furtherd that this time around,they came when the pastor was out for out station duties.

Covid-19 Bamenda: Sero- Prevalence Survey Launched, But How Important Is It?

  By Raymond Dingana According to the Regional Delegate of Public Health for the North West Region, Dr. Kingsley Che Soh, the importance of the Covid-19 Sero-Prevalence Survey is that, it will not only reveal the Prevalence of the disease but say whether after being infected, one can be re-infected et al: “The survey will first of all help us know the situation of the disease in the region especially in our context. Secondly, it will enable us know if persons who have been tested positive have developed immunity to the disease because ,the survey is going to be measuring the levels of anti bodies to Covid-19 to the subjects for whom the blood samples will be collected. It is going to inform us whether we are immune to the virus or whether after being infected, we can be re-infected,”    Dr Kingsley explained during the launching ceremony. He added that, the real proportion of those who have tested positive for the virus is still not known because, they did not present with symptoms

North West Population Encouraged To Consume Products from Local Producers

The call was made by the Secretary General at the NW Governor’s office, Mr. Viang Mekala  Friday October 30th,  during the 6 TH edition of the North West Regional Open Day for Research and Innovation held with the theme: Building Resilience In The Face Of A Pandemic, The Case Of Covid-19.   “I want to appreciate the ingenuity and innovative skills which is a clear indication that, we have Cameroonians that are capable of many things. I will like to encourage the population to also encourage them by consuming those products because the products are natural and I have seen products that can help the population face the Corona virus pandemic.
