The Prime Minister and Head of Government, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, has energized the South Region to ensure that Incumbent President Paul Biya achieves a landslide victory in the upcoming Presidential election on October 12.
This was the highlight of a large CPDM rally held on October 10, 2025, in Ebolowa, marking the end of an exciting campaign period in the region.
During the event, the Prime Minister praised the large turnout, which he said shows the strong support for the Head of State. He noted that in the last Presidential election, the South Region delivered over 92% of its votes for Biya, confirming that the region is ready to give 100% of its votes this time.
The Prime Minister highlighted various infrastructure improvements in the region since Biya took office, stating that these projects align with Biya's vision of making the region prosperous in the future.
In education, Dion Ngute said,
"Thanks to the wise leadership of His Excellency Paul Biya, the South Region is proud to have institutions like the University of Ebolowa, the Higher Institute of Maritime Studies, and the Cameroon-Congo Inter-State University, which contribute to the quality of training for our young people."
Regarding road infrastructure, he mentioned,
"Significant efforts have been made to develop our roads, including the Kribi-Lolabe Highway, Grand Zambi-Kribi, Sangmalima-Djoum, and other crucial road networks that help transport goods and services."
He assured the public that work will continue to build and repair roads, especially the Edea-Kribi road and the Kribi-Ebolowa road, to further enhance living conditions. The PM concluded by urging the public to keep supporting President Paul Biya and to ignore any opposition trying to mislead them.
City Mayor Speaks
The City Mayor of Ebolowa, Daniel Edjo'o, expressed gratitude to the Head of State for concluding the campaign in Ebolowa. He emphasized that efforts are underway to ensure no votes are lost to the opposition in the South Region.
"President Paul Biya is our number one choice and the best option for the South Region. We recognize no opposition, and we will vote for Biya on Sunday."
The mayor also stated that they will not rest until victory is achieved.
"We will keep working until the last moment. We have organized various campaign teams to ensure no votes slip away from the CPDM."
Anglophone Community Supports Biya
Speaking for the Anglophone community in Ebolowa, President Betang Theophile noted that the people of the South, especially Ebolowa, have welcomed them warmly.
"We have been living here since leaving the North West and South West. The locals have generously given us land to farm and provided other support."
He added,
"We stand firmly behind President Paul Biya because he has done a lot for us. On Sunday, we will give him 100% of our votes."
No One Can Challenge Biya
In his speech, the head of the CPDM campaign team for the South Region and Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Jacques Fame Ndongo, stated that none of the other 11 candidates can compete with Biya. He insisted that the opposition is making unrealistic promises.
"Show me any candidate who can face President Paul Biya; I see no one. All I see are dreamers and magicians promising projects that cannot be funded. So, President Paul Biya is our only choice this Sunday."
The rally concluded with the audience pledging their full support for President Biya in the upcoming elections.

It's important to note that the South Region is primarily dominated by the CPDM and is a crucial battleground in any Presidential election.
Although the ruling party has a stronghold in the region, the resignation of key allies like FSNC’s former Minister Issa Tchiroma and UNDP’s ex-Minister Bello Bouba Maigari has made it more challenging.
This massive rally provides reassurance to Biya as he prepares for the October 12 elections.
