Bamenda II Waste-to-Energy Project Moves Closer To Reality As Feasibility Study Begins

By Raymond Dingana The long-awaited Bamenda II Waste-to-Energy Project is moving closer to implementation, with feasibility studies expected to begin in the coming weeks. The project, which seeks to turn waste into energy while creating jobs and improving waste management, is being developed by the Bamenda II Council in partnership with Global Ventures of North America (GVNA). GVNA Africa Regional Director and Country Director for Cameroon Operations, Emmanuel Ntoko, was in Bamenda on Saturday, August 8, 2026, for a meeting to launch the feasibility study phase. The meeting brought together Bamenda II Mayor Peter Chenwi, Mezam Senior Divisional Officer Simone Emile Mooh, traditional rulers, councillors and other partners.
