Life’s Battle Lessons Book Launch: “Youths Go Astray Because Of Parental Neglect”- Tosah Francis Tiifu.

By Raymond Dingana.

A book titled Life’s Battle Lessons, a book that is all about life’s challenges and how to go about them has been launched. The launching ceremony took place Sunday September 29th, 2019 at the Saint John Bosco Youth Center, Big Mankon Cathedral.
During the launching ceremony, the author, Tosah Francis Tiifu said:In most communities and families, young people are going astray because of parental neglect. To succeed in life, young people need to be aided. They need support from their parents, be it mentally or physically to excel in their various Commitments.
While quoting a passage in the book, Tosah Francis Tiifu said, youths live reactive lives based on what happens to them rather than proactive lives based on values they possess: They live their lives by ‘Accident’ rather than on ‘purpose’. Looking at these challenges, the puzzle is, how can we eradicate these contemporary challenges? Amidst all these trouble and pain, should we run away or face them?  I was once told that, if you see something wrong you can either do something to improve on the situation or you do nothing. Over the years, my experiences interacting with young people have led to the conclusion that they have chosen the path of doing nothing yet keep complaining. He added.
On how to tackle day to day challenges, Tosah Francis said, many youths focus on ways to escape from the problems rather than facing them head on:In reality, young people face a lot of difficulties; they face the problem of parental neglect, poverty, unemployment and so many other physical and mental issues. Unfortunately, they focus on ways to escape from these problems rather than tackling them. Running away from such challenges only gives temporary relief but if we can identify these problems now and devise solutions to them, we would save today and the generations to come.
According to Tosah Francis, the book will help young people know how to overcome challenges in life in order not to give up in life. Being a Lawyer in the making, he says young people should not think they are limited to a particular field and that. He says youths have many talents which they need to identify and use them judiciously.
The book, Life’s Battle Lessons is in all Book Shops In Bamenda and will soon be in other bookshops nationwide.
