NACDA Outlines Measures To Check Spread Of Covid-19 In Awing.

The measures set aside by the Ndong Awing Cultural and Development Association-NACDA is expected to be strictly respected by all so as to prevent any out break of the Virus in the village.

In the transport sector,bike riders to transport just one at a time, one in front and two behind for vehicles,

Passengers with respiratory illness should stay home and seek medical aid,
Obligatory hand washing and/or hand sanitizing by all passengers at the bigining and the end of the trip,

Obligatory wearing of face mask by riders and passengers

No hand shaking or hugging,

Taking body temperature of travellers using thermo flash to identify persons with fever and manage according to prescribed guidelines,

Coughing or sneezing in paper tissue and disposing of the tissue in a trash can put in place,
Cleaning and disinfecting of bikes and vehicles every day.

For Funerals, social distance should be respected at funerals,not more than 50 mourners Who are immediate closed familiy members,

No formal refreshment ceremony,packages should be handed to mourners to take home than a buffet,
Ceremony should be brief,no traditional rights and death celebration,

Obligatory hand washing and hand sanitizing by mourners in entry and exit from the funeral ground.Hand washing taps and soap must n made available.

Obligatory wearing of face mask by all mourners,

The caskets and vehicles have to be sanitized,
No shaking of hand and hugging

Make sure that,mourners who are sick of illnesses like  fever,Cough,running nose self isolate themselves and seek medical help,

Cleaning and disinfecting of the funeral place and objects used during the funeral ceremony like door knobs,tables,chairs,food containers and many others.

To ensure that these measures are respected by all,Fon Fozoh II of Awing has promised to.use the village traditional whip while task forces have also been created to see in to it that,the measures are not violated so that,Covid-19 will have no place in Awing.

Road Accident Leaves Two Persons Dead Along Bamenda-Bambili Stretch

Chattered Vehicles As A Result Of Accident  By Raymond Dingana Township taxi drivers in Bamenda are still in shock following the death of one of theirs who died alongside his passenger at the Mile 6 neighborhood in Nkwen, on the Bamenda-Bambili road, Friday March 15, 2024. The accident that didn't only take away lives but caused enormous damages on the two vehicles involved has been attributed to over speeding. "The black private car was on top speed when it suddenly found itself on the other said of the road colliding with the taxi. The occupants of the private owned vehicle fled the scene after the accident. The vehicle was coming from the Mile 6 direction while the taxi was heading towards Bamenda, " explained a witness. The passenger whose only name drayinfos got as Tigwe died on the spot, while the driver of the Starlet vehicle died later at the Regional Hospital in Bamenda. Bamenda: Population Protests Killing Of Civilian By Uniform Officer

  Cross Section Of Protesting Crowd At Up Station  By Raymond Dingana The early hours of Thursday April 4,2024 was a tensed one at the Bamenda I council area following the stabbing to death of the young man identified as Junior Awazi popularly known as BJ by a uniform officer in civilian attire. The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday breaking Thursday April 4 in a beer parlor at Up Station, Bamenda I Council area. The population was out in the streets expressing their grievances demanding justice for the slain young man. " It all started when the uniform officer in civilian attire wounded a girl's hand after she rejected his love advances. BJ intervene and the officer stabbed him three times and that was his end," narrates a witness who spoke to drayinfos on the basis of anonymity.
