Hon Agho Oliver Preaches Forgiveness, Donates Didactic Material To Kids.

 By Raymond Dingana

My dear brothers and sisters, I sincerely appeal to you today, to look for a place in your hearts to forgive those who committed these atrocities on you people directly or indirectly in one way or the other. My dear people, the only way we can find mercy is when we respond to Jesus’ instructions in the Bible in Our Lord’s Prayer when he said, father forgive us as we also forgive those who have trespassed against us. So I appeal to you to forgive in order to be forgiven.

Those were the words of the Hon. Member of Parliament for Bafut-Tubah Constituency during the handing over ceremony of school bags containing Exercise books, Pens, Pencils, Rulers, Face masks and many others to children of school going age from the four villages that make up Tubah Sub Division, Sunday September 27, 2020 at the esplanade of the office of the Divisional Officer.

The Hon Member of Parliament also underscored the need for children to be allowed to go to school saying no need to over emphasize the importance of education ….“ we know it already and no one understands it better than we do. There was a time children were prevented from going to school and the time have come for them to resume school. We have 19200 exercise books, 2000 Pens, 180 mark sets, 228 rulers, 2016 erasers, 200 school bags, 2000 face masks and many others. Hon Agho intimated.

The children who are Internally Displaced and Orphaned by the ongoing armed conflict in the two restive regions of the country were very much appreciative thanking the Hon Member of Parliament for the gesture. Talking to DrayInfos, one of the kids said,  the school needs she received will help her parents and that, what would have been used to buy books will instead be used to pay her fee and take care of other needs.

To the first deputy mayor of Tubah Council, education is the sole weapon that can be used to achieve anything in life, not the weapons and fighting against one another.

The traditional rulers of Bambili, Bambui, Kejom ketinguh and Kejom Keku all in Tubah were all appreciative of the magnanimity of the Hon Member of Parliament but like Oliver Twist, they asked for more…. we will need him to come especially when schools must have resumed so that, he can move from school to school and see those that are present and are in need and also help them. Fon Afungchwi III of Bambili said.

There are hopes that come October 05, 2020; the children will resume school without hitches after being deprived of education for four years now.

It should be recalled that since confirmed MP after the March 22, 2020 repeat elections, Hon. Agho Oliver has been up on all fronts trying to assuage the situation of his constituents in both Bafut and Tubah

Already in March, he offered roofing sheets worth over 10 million FCFA to close to 30 families in Bambui and Bafut. Thereafter, he paid a visit to the Sabga Aldorate where he supported Muslim faithful with cartoons of sugar, tea and others during the fasting period. On the sidelines, he also stopped over at Sabga Health Center where he settled bills of all patients found at the facility at the time of his arrival, worth over 300000FCFA.

He has been an essential element in the North West parliamentary momentum that has for the past weeks been making Public Works minister to sit at the edge of his seat in relation to the lackluster attitude in tarring of the –Bamenda- Babadjou stretch of road.

How did they guarantee these parents that the life of their children will be safe if they send them to school?
