Bamenda II: Quater Heads Report Underdevelopment To Council

Lack of good road infrastructure, portable water,electricity,health among others are some of the challenges brought forth by the Quarter Heads. This was during a come together between the Bamenda II Council and Quarter Heads from the municipality to strategize on how to develop to area,Wednesday. 

As indicated by Mr.Fon William, representing the quater heads of Mbatu,they have a dame,construction material but no water and roads.

"We have a dame in Mbatu, but we don't have portable water. The stones and sand used for construction in Bamenda come from Mbatu;but we don't have roads."he indicated.

 The problems raised by the other Quater heads were similar to those Mr.Fon William pointed out.

Mr Fopang Nicholas representing the Quarter Heads from Mankon indicated that,the unstable nature of electricity in Mankon is another problem that needs the atention of the Bamenda II municipal council.

Speaking earlier during the event,the mayor of  Bamenda II,Peter Chenui called on the representatives all the quarters to plead with the separatist fighters to give peace a chance.

He also called on them to allow development to florish saying that" the raods, water,hospitals,schools and many others are for everybody with them inclusive. What has come should not be allow to go back. We should work together so that the projects can n realised for the benefit of all."Mayor Chenui pointed out.

The message about given peace a chance was re-ecohored by the General Manager of MIDENO, Mr. Matoya Cletus who said, when the projects starts,the boys in the bush should not block the work.


He sided an instance where his office gave seedlings to farmers and were blocked by some of the boys. He said,the seedlings were meant to plant and harvest crops which was  for everybody including themselves.

On his part,the divisional officer for Bamenda II called on the representatives of the  quarters in his area of command to burry their differences and develop the area.

He added that,development is not a political party. He frawned at those he said have been allowas themselves to be used to retard development.

 It should be borne in mind that, many in the Bamenda II municipality have times without number added their voice to those calling for a return to peace so that,meaningful development can take place.
