FEHACU 2021: Inclusive Contest Produces Festival Beauty Pegeant Finalists

Finalists of the maiden edition of the Bamenda III Festival of Heritage Arts and Cultures (FEHACU) beauty pageant are now known. 

The finalists emerged from an inclusive highly competitive contest at the Nkwen Fon's Palace on Wednesday 10 November 2021.

"We are happy with our girls who summoned courage to be part of this maiden edition of Miss FEHACU. Personally I feel happy with the fact that most of them are proposing project that will connect young people to their culture. This is the very essence of our festival. As a council, we are committed to make sure that those who shall win will have all the support to carry on their projects. They shall be having interesting prices and that is already something to start with." Quinta Mankaa Bamenda III Secretary General said after the contest.

The finalists have been advised to step up their preparation for a better performance programmed for Saturday 27 November 2021 being day two of the festival. 





The beauty pageant most of them students of the university of Bamenda based within Bamenda III municipality have expressed satisfaction with the Council for offering them such an uncommon opportunity in recent times.



"We are also happy that we succeeded to have an inclusive Miss FEHACU contest. You see one of the contestants on a wheelchair and another an albino. I must single out these two and thank them for trusting us by coming to participate. Our principal goal as a council is to ensure that our development like every other actity is inclusive." The Secretary General added.

Also featuring during the FEHACU pre-event was a performance by several dance groups from around the Bamenda III municipality.

Road Accident Leaves Two Persons Dead Along Bamenda-Bambili Stretch

Chattered Vehicles As A Result Of Accident  By Raymond Dingana Township taxi drivers in Bamenda are still in shock following the death of one of theirs who died alongside his passenger at the Mile 6 neighborhood in Nkwen, on the Bamenda-Bambili road, Friday March 15, 2024. The accident that didn't only take away lives but caused enormous damages on the two vehicles involved has been attributed to over speeding. "The black private car was on top speed when it suddenly found itself on the other said of the road colliding with the taxi. The occupants of the private owned vehicle fled the scene after the accident. The vehicle was coming from the Mile 6 direction while the taxi was heading towards Bamenda, " explained a witness. The passenger whose only name drayinfos got as Tigwe died on the spot, while the driver of the Starlet vehicle died later at the Regional Hospital in Bamenda. Bamenda: Population Protests Killing Of Civilian By Uniform Officer

  Cross Section Of Protesting Crowd At Up Station  By Raymond Dingana The early hours of Thursday April 4,2024 was a tensed one at the Bamenda I council area following the stabbing to death of the young man identified as Junior Awazi popularly known as BJ by a uniform officer in civilian attire. The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday breaking Thursday April 4 in a beer parlor at Up Station, Bamenda I Council area. The population was out in the streets expressing their grievances demanding justice for the slain young man. " It all started when the uniform officer in civilian attire wounded a girl's hand after she rejected his love advances. BJ intervene and the officer stabbed him three times and that was his end," narrates a witness who spoke to drayinfos on the basis of anonymity.
