Crime: Uniform Officer Allegedly Kills Girl Friend In Bamenda

A young girl by name Nchinda Ophilia Gaife, a native of Oku in Bui Divison has died and accussing fingers are pointing at her boy friend, a soldier working in Bamenda, capital of the restive Northwest Region of Cameroon.

The incident happened in the night of Saturday breaking Sunday June 26,2022 at the Blue Moon neighborhood, Bamenda I sub division.

We gathered that Ophilia who had spent some time at a health facility in Bamenda because of ill health was asked by the father to return to the village because of the hash treatment the she was going through in the hand of the boy friend.

That faithful Saturday, Ophilia went to get her belongings not knowing she was actually going to meet her end in the hands of her boy friend, the father of their child.

Neighbors told us that they heard them arguing and that the argument ended when they heard a gun shot,
He put the gun in the girl's mouth and pulled the trigger shattering her head. She died on the spot. His colleagues came and prevented anyone from even seeing the body,
a source familier with the incident explained to drayinfos.

Other sources have however indicated that Ophilia committed suicide by shooting herself with her boy friend's gun while he and their child were deep asleep.

Though we could not confirmed the circumstances sorrounding the death of the lady, we were made to understand that her death was only made known when the brother with whom she was to traveled to the village on Sunday waited for her at Mobile Nkwen to no avail.

After trying in vain to reach her on phone, he decided to go check what was happening only to see her sister's corps being put in a vehicle to be taken to the mortuary.

It is not clear if the suspect, her boy friend is under custody of not since they has been no official word from the Northwest Regional Administration on the matter.

Calls are already coming from different quarters for investigations to be conducted in order to get to the root of what actually happened to Nchinda Ophilia.

Chattered Vehicles As A Result Of Accident  By Raymond Dingana Township taxi drivers in Bamenda are still in shock following the death of one of theirs who died alongside his passenger at the Mile 6 neighborhood in Nkwen, on the Bamenda-Bambili road, Friday March 15, 2024. The accident that didn't only take away lives but caused enormous damages on the two vehicles involved has been attributed to over speeding. "The black private car was on top speed when it suddenly found itself on the other said of the road colliding with the taxi. The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday breaking Thursday April 4 in a beer parlor at Up Station, Bamenda I Council area. The population was out in the streets expressing their grievances demanding justice for the slain young man.
