The North West Regional Assembly (NWRA) will be concentrating on four key areas whose competences have been duely transfered to the region all in a bid to make life good for the population come 2023.

This was made known during the 9th session of the NWRA currently going on in Bamenda with the theme: Citizen Participation in a Bottom Up Approach In Sourcing Activities from the Community.

According to the President of the NWRA, Fru Angwafo III, Tourism and Leisure, Transport, Town Planning and the Environment will be prioritized by the Assembly come 2023.

When there are emergencies with human interest activities, there will be entertained,
he indicated.

To better bring in the communities to participate in their own development, members of the NWRA were schooled on Citizen Participation in Development by Prof. Nsoh Christopher who drilled them on Levels of Citizen Participation in development, community empowerment amongst others.

He invited the Regional Councilors to avoid what he termed "Degree of Takenism." Here, he said they should not only be giving information, but they should also welcome the views of the population and be committed to act on them.

Given that many are of the opinion that Peace is a Pathway to Development and not the other way round, Dr. Achu Frida empowered the Regional Councilors with knowledge that was centered around the Principles of Reconciliation.

She said justice is needed to acquire Reconciliation and that the root causes of conflicts should be visited in order to achieve sustainable peace amongst others.

One of the eldest Regional Councilors who reacted on the presentations said achieving peace is a collective effort which should also include members of the oposition political parties.
