Road Construction:Bamenda City Mayor Sets Conditions For Quarters To Benefit


Bamenda City Mayor(Middle) At The Council Session

The Mayor of Bamenda City Council,Paul Achobang Tembeng has set some conditions which he says if attained by the population, road maintainance works will see the light of day in their neighbourhoods.

Mayor Achobang was speaking Tuesday December 20,2022 during the Council's budgetary session.

You will have to ensure that the security of workers and equiptment are guaranteed. You will also have to embrace the participatory approach to development by contributing a token of 500/1000FCFA through your quarter heads to at least get fuel or others not that we lack fuel but just a way for you to participate. When all these are done, it will prove that inhabitants are ready to contribute to their own development, Mayor Achobang said.

He sited the example of Mankon in Bamenda II Council area where Quarter heads and the inhabitants participated in the road works leading to the Mankon Palace, an example the City Mayor said should be copied by all

Worth noting is the fact that road construction workers and their equpltment have suffered in the hands of armed men operating in Bamenda and other areas hit by the armed conflict that has claimed thousands of life and displaced thousands more according to unofficial sources.

Inviting the people to participate in their own development the mayor said, will be a way to provide security for personel and equipment.
