The Supervisory Board of MITANYEN Cooperative Credit Union also known as MitaCCUL which is the Watchdog of the financial institution has celebrated Grace Ngwafor for contributing to the growth of the credit union.

Grace Ngwafor Receiving The Award

She was handed a Certificate of Appreciation for her selfless sacrifice in serving MitaCULL at their conference room at Sonac Street Bamenda.

After receiving the award, Grace said her nine years of service to MitaCCUL has not been a bed of roses but determination and love for what she was doing saw her through.

It's not easy working as the watchdog of the credit union. We have on many occasions been a logger heads with some members of the Board of Directors (BODs)for what they didn't implement well and for not executing what we requested of them,

 Grace explained.

She also highlighted some of the work they carried out during her mandate,

Our work has to do with going through loan files to see if the loans are properly granted so as to ease recovery, go through all the books in the credit union, we go through the budget to see if it is well executed and if they followed the various headings amongst others.

To those coming in to take over from them, Grace invited them to be patient and have the willingness and mind to work because if they fail and anything goes wrong, it is the Supervisory Board that will be held accountable.
