NW: PPRD Steering Committee Celebrates Achievements After Many Predicted Failure

The head of the Steering Committee of the Presidential Plan for the Reconstruction and Development of the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon,Mr. Balungeli Confiance Ebune has said those who thought development was impossible in times of crisis should start having a rethink. 

Many were taken aback Tuesday March 28,2023 at the MINEPAT conference room in Bamenda when the goals scored by the PPRD were  released.

Speaking in Bamenda Tuesday March 28,2023, Mr. Ebune said:

When the PPRD was announced, many said it was destined to fail given that the crisis rocking the two restive regions of the country was still raging on. Thanks to the visionary leadership qualities of President Paul Biya, it has been proven that reconstruction and development can still go on even in times of conflict.

He furthered that others are now copying the example of Cameroon. 

All the seven divisions of the North West Region of Cameroon have benefited from the magnanimity of the PPRD.

Amongst the achievements recorded in Mezam include the rehabilitation and equipment of schools in four council areas, Provision of farm equipment to 7 councils, Support to the Poultry farming sector in four councils, just to name but these. 

Ngoketunjia and Momo Divisions also had their own share of the PPRD project,


The Presidential Plan for the Reconstruction and Development of the North West and South West also answered present in Boyo Division as indicated by an official of the United Nations Development Program, UNDP who didn't want to be named.



Bui Division which is considered one of the boiling points of the armed conflict also felt the impact of the PPRD. 



In Donga Mantung, thanks to the PPRD, 4 solar powered water project saw the light of day in two council areas.  Farm equipment also went to 4 ouncils. 




For better resulta as the PPRD continues in a bid to put smiles on the faces of those affected by the Anglophone crisis, Mr.Ebune Confiance encouraged the population to unconditional collaborate with the authorities toward complete return to normalcy.

On his part, North West Governor, Adolph Lele Lafrique appreciated all what the PPDR has achieved so far.

He saluted those he said turned against all who had misled them to carry weapons against the state of Cameroon. He noted that the PPRD is succeeding because people have taken ownership of it.

It was also revealed that insecurity is the greatest challenge the PPRD is facing in the crisis hit English speaking regions of the country. 

This explains why the population is being invited to work with the administration for the success of the PPRD.

Road Accident Leaves Two Persons Dead Along Bamenda-Bambili Stretch

Chattered Vehicles As A Result Of Accident  By Raymond Dingana Township taxi drivers in Bamenda are still in shock following the death of one of theirs who died alongside his passenger at the Mile 6 neighborhood in Nkwen, on the Bamenda-Bambili road, Friday March 15, 2024. The accident that didn't only take away lives but caused enormous damages on the two vehicles involved has been attributed to over speeding. "The black private car was on top speed when it suddenly found itself on the other said of the road colliding with the taxi. The occupants of the private owned vehicle fled the scene after the accident. The vehicle was coming from the Mile 6 direction while the taxi was heading towards Bamenda, " explained a witness. The passenger whose only name drayinfos got as Tigwe died on the spot, while the driver of the Starlet vehicle died later at the Regional Hospital in Bamenda. Bamenda: Population Protests Killing Of Civilian By Uniform Officer

  Cross Section Of Protesting Crowd At Up Station  By Raymond Dingana The early hours of Thursday April 4,2024 was a tensed one at the Bamenda I council area following the stabbing to death of the young man identified as Junior Awazi popularly known as BJ by a uniform officer in civilian attire. The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday breaking Thursday April 4 in a beer parlor at Up Station, Bamenda I Council area. The population was out in the streets expressing their grievances demanding justice for the slain young man. " It all started when the uniform officer in civilian attire wounded a girl's hand after she rejected his love advances. BJ intervene and the officer stabbed him three times and that was his end," narrates a witness who spoke to drayinfos on the basis of anonymity.
