Health officials have always prescribed sporting activities as one of the ways to put Non Communicable Diseases(NCDs) under check.

This explains why a football encounter to raise awareness on the silent killers (NCDs) took place between the Football Clubs of  health personnel of the Bamenda Regional Hospitals (BRH FC) and those of the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services (CBCHS FC) on Saturday June 24th all in a bid to sound the alarm bell that NCDs are still around.

As pointed out by both team presidents, Mr.Ngunjuah Franklen and Dr. Eldren of BRH FC and CBCHS FC respectively, it was an opportunity to communicate healthily through sports and enjoy the camaraderie that exist between the two health institutions.

The good collaboration we have in healthcare provision in the region cannot be seen just within the hospital premises. We decided to take it out of that space to talk it professionally on football pitch,

said the president of the CBCHS FC, Dr.Eldren who spoke on behalf of both team presidents.

Hosted by the CBC school field at Mile 3 Nkwen, the game appeared more like a hugely contested finals of the English Premier League between Man City and Man United, but the aim was to create awareness on the need to crusade against NCDs.

At the 11th minutes of play, team BRH FC  got its first baptism of fire from the CBCHS FC who scored the first goal of the day.

The goal line situation did not change through out the first half of play despite all attempts by BRH FC to level scores.

BRH FC didn't relent in their efforts to avoid defeat and it paid off 10mins in to the second half of the game when BRH FC levelled  scores making it 1-1 on either side

At 90mins, it was 1-1 meaning both teams shared the spoils.

The match described many many as the clash of the Titans comes after a similar one the Bamenda Regional Hospital Football  Club, BRH FC organized over a year ago.
