Ndian: Danger For SDF As Former Toko Mayor, Over 200 Militants Decamp To CPDM

Over 200 supporters of the opposition Social Democratic Front, SDF, party in Ndian division of the South West Region have decamped to the ruling Cameroon People's Democratic Movement, CPDM, party, Monday, November 6, 2023, in Mundemba, headquarters of Ndian division.

This was during celebrations to mark the 41st anniversary of the accession of President Paul Biya to the supreme magistracy of the state.

The converts from Toko Subdivision were led by the former Mayor of Toko Council under the SDF party ticket, Nganda Valentine Beyoko who say they are done with the SDF Party.

Decamped Members Of The SDF Party 

Their decamping to the CPDM party is considered an anniversary gift to the National President of the CPDM party, His Excellency Paul Biya, who is also the President of the Republic.

It is regarded as a big blow to the SDF party especially to their newly elected National Chairman, Osih Joshua Nambangi, a traditional ruler of Madie Ngolo in Ndian division.

On the other hand, the move is an indication that the CPDM party is waxing on strong in the area.

Toko Subdivision has been a stronghold of the SDF party in Ndian division and the recent decamping has been qualified as the last straw that breaks the Camel's back because it was the only place in the division with a large SDF following as the entire Ndian division has a CPDM party majority.



Political analysts are of the opinion that their decision to decamp must have been influenced by the developmental strides in Ndian division by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, who is a diehard CPDM party militant and son of the division.

With upcoming political consultations in the country, the analysts have noted that opposition parties have no place in Ndian division.

Road Accident Leaves Two Persons Dead Along Bamenda-Bambili Stretch

Chattered Vehicles As A Result Of Accident  By Raymond Dingana Township taxi drivers in Bamenda are still in shock following the death of one of theirs who died alongside his passenger at the Mile 6 neighborhood in Nkwen, on the Bamenda-Bambili road, Friday March 15, 2024. The accident that didn't only take away lives but caused enormous damages on the two vehicles involved has been attributed to over speeding. "The black private car was on top speed when it suddenly found itself on the other said of the road colliding with the taxi. The occupants of the private owned vehicle fled the scene after the accident. The vehicle was coming from the Mile 6 direction while the taxi was heading towards Bamenda, " explained a witness. Bamenda: Population Protests Killing Of Civilian By Uniform Officer

  Cross Section Of Protesting Crowd At Up Station  By Raymond Dingana The early hours of Thursday April 4,2024 was a tensed one at the Bamenda I council area following the stabbing to death of the young man identified as Junior Awazi popularly known as BJ by a uniform officer in civilian attire. The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday breaking Thursday April 4 in a beer parlor at Up Station, Bamenda I Council area. The population was out in the streets expressing their grievances demanding justice for the slain young man. " It all started when the uniform officer in civilian attire wounded a girl's hand after she rejected his love advances.
