As October 12 approaches, efforts to ensure victory for President Paul Biya are reaching a peak. During a large rally at the Senior Divisional Officer's (SDO) esplanade in Mezam, the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) showed its strength against opponents. This event marked the joining of three former female members of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) into the party.
The former SDF members were welcomed by Fongod Edwin Nuvaga, Director General (DG) who represents the Mezam Divisional Campaign Team. The former SDF militants were decorated with CPDM fabric by Senator Mrs. Nebah Ndosiri Ndoye, the President of the Women's Wing of CPDM in Mezam IA.

Explaining to the population on the merits of voting Paul Biya, Fongod Edwin Nuvaga said:
"The liquefied Gas plant which was recently commissioned, the Bamenda I Municipal Stadium in Atougoulah, up to 10 km of roads works ongoing, construction of a modern market, the Customs Head office and the Head office of the Rice Value Chain Project, among others."
He emphasized that these projects are reasons for the community to support Paul Biya.
Earlier, Mayor Mbigha Felix of Bamenda I praised the peace in the municipality, saying,
"Our most important asset in this Municipality is the peace we enjoy. It has led to significant development."
Dr. Taniform Peter noted that the people of Bamenda I are grateful and not selfish. She stated that because of all Biya has done for the municipality, he will win by a large margin.
Party officials also took the opportunity to educate the crowd on how to vote, reminding them to select the white ballot featuring Paul Biya's face.
