Global Ventures of North America Inc. (GVNA) has appointed Cameroonian executive Emmanuel Ntoko as its Country Director for Cameroon Operations. The appointment, made official on May 22, 2026, gives Ntoko a key leadership role in the company's waste-to-energy and infrastructure development plans in Cameroon and across Africa.
In addition to serving as Country Director, Ntoko will also serve as Human Resources Director for Waste-to-Energy Projects in Cameroon, Director of Government and Institutional Engagement, and Senior Executive Representative. He will report directly to Ryan A.D. Elcock, Chief Strategy and Operations Officer, while overall authority remains with Steven L. Williams, GVNA's Founder and CEO.
A Strategic Role for Cameroon
Ntoko will lead the planned creation of GVNA Africa, a company-wide African body expected to be based in Cameroon. He will also serve as the senior contact for Global Ventures Power (GVP), GVNA's energy subsidiary. His duties include managing daily operations, building government partnerships, and overseeing project delivery across the continent.
Ntoko expressed enthusiasm about Cameroon's central role.
"With a role of this magnitude, and the love my CEO Steven Williams and CSO Ryan Elcock have for this country, the continental headquarters will definitely be in Cameroon,"
he said.
"Cameroon is often referred to as a continent in miniature because of its diversity and potential."
The Bamenda II Waste-to-Energy Project
A key project under Ntoko's supervision is the Bamenda II Waste-to-Energy and Integrated Waste Management Project, developed in partnership with the Bamenda II Council, led by Mayor Peter Chenwi. The project aims to tackle growing waste problems while generating energy, protecting the environment, and creating jobs.

Ntoko explained that project locations are chosen based on the severity of waste challenges, government commitment, available waste volume, and potential community benefit.
"We prioritize locations where projects can create meaningful environmental improvements, employment opportunities, and long-term economic benefits,"
he said.
Economic and Environmental Benefits
The project is expected to create jobs for engineers, technicians, environmental specialists, plant operators, and administrators. It will also support small businesses in areas like recycling, waste collection, and equipment maintenance.
On the environmental side, the project will reduce reliance on open dumpsites and poorly managed landfills, leading to cleaner air, safer water, and better public health. The facilities may also generate local electricity and cut greenhouse gas emissions.
"We see these projects as catalysts for sustainable growth, environmental protection, and community empowerment,"
Ntoko said.
Youth and Community Opportunities
GVNA plans to partner with schools, vocational centers, and technical colleges to train young people for careers in waste management and renewable energy. The company also intends to bring in expertise from Canadian and American partners to raise local professional standards.
"Success will be measured not only by cleaner communities but by the jobs created and skills transferred to the next generation,"
Ntoko said.
Progress on the Ground
During a recent visit to Bamenda, Ntoko was impressed by the commitment shown by local authorities, particularly Mayor Peter Chenwi. While he noted areas needing improvement such as waste collection logistics and sorting systems he was confident in the council's willingness to work with international partners.
Ntoko indicated that the project is close to a major milestone.
"We are almost at the finish line," he said. "Work may begin within the next 60 days after feasibility studies and data collection are completed."
With Cameroon set to become GVNA's African base, Emmanuel Ntoko now carries the responsibility of turning that vision into reality starting in Bamenda.
