Nina Ambuban At The Women Mediators Submit In Bamenda

Nina Ambuban, a Jurist and Research Officer at the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator (PIC) for the North West Region, played two important roles at the 2026 North West Women Mediators Summit. She moderated a high-level panel discussion and also represented the Public Independent Conciliator, Tamfu Simon Fai.

The summit brought together traditional rulers, women mediators, civil society actors, development partners and public institutions. The meeting focused on the theme, "Women's Leadership in Peacebuilding: Formalising the Voices and Roles of Women Mediators for Inclusive Processes."

The Panel Discussion Unfolding 

As moderator of Panel Two, titled "Regional Voices: Communities and Institutions Reclaiming Women as Architects of Peace," Nina Ambuban guided discussions on the role of women in peacebuilding, community leadership and conflict resolution.

The panel brought together several key stakeholders, including the Vice President of the North West Regional Executive Council and President of the House of Chiefs, His Royal Majesty Fon Nfor Amidu Nji; the General Coordinator of the South West North West Women's Task Force, Clotilda Andiensa; National Communications Officer Ndasi Gilbert; Justice and Peace Coordinator of the Archdiocese of Bamenda, Raphaela Ndong; legal expert Barrister Tamon; and community mediator Haweh Bira.

Besides moderating the session, Nina Ambuban also represented the Public Independent Conciliator for the North West Region, Tamfu Simon Fai. Her participation highlighted the institution's commitment to dialogue, mediation and peaceful conflict resolution.

Through the discussions, participants stressed the need to strengthen women's voices in peace processes and decision-making structures. They also called for greater recognition of women mediators and more inclusion of women in governance, conflict prevention and reconciliation efforts across the North West Region.

Her participation reflected the active role of the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator in promoting dialogue, social cohesion and inclusive development.

Nina Ambuban Agingi is a Jurist and Research Officer at the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator in the North-West Region of Cameroon. As a gender and project management expert with over a decade of experience in public administration and legal research, she specializes in institutional accountability and the protection marginalized groups. Nina currently leads the integration of inclusive and non-discriminatory policies across regional governance and local councils. A skilled mediator and peace-builder, she is dedicated to dismantling barriers for women in leadership and ensuring that vulnerable citizens remain central to public policy and regional stability.
