Constant Power Blackout: Hon. Agho Oliver Rescues I D Card Applicants In Tubah.

The constants power cut in Bambili and Tubah sub division as a whole has further compounded the already complicated procedure in the issuance of National Identity Cards. In a bid to salvage the situation, Hon. Agho Oliver of Bafut-Tubah Constituency donated a 4000kilowatts Generator to the Bambili Public Security Police Station on Monday July 20, 2020 where ID cards are issued.

“I was passing one day around the police and I saw a crowd outside the police station. When i tried to find out, i was told they were there to establish I D cards. It is abnormal that, people will spend weeks to establish the document because of unstable electricity supply. Students need this document to go in for competitive entrance examinations and many others. This is why I decided to donate this 4000Kilowatts generator to help salvage the situation”. Hon. Agho told DrayInfos.

According to the Divisional Officer for Tubah, Alim Garga, the initiative is a good one. He said the commissioner of the police station told the Honorable Member of parliament that, the issuance of identification documents at the Bambili Identification post is being hampered by unstable electricity supply. He added that, with the generator, they will  function full time.

While appreciating the donation by Honorable Agho, Mayor Tanjong Martine of Tubah Council said, power cuts in Tubah is not a thing to measure. He furthered that, it is just like they don’t have electricity. He added that, for the past months, students have not been able to read their books because of no electricity. Just like Oliver Twist, Mayor Tanjong used the occasion to ask for more, citing some of the challenges the Sub Division is facing including inadequate road infrastructure, the problem of portable water amongst others.

On like other members of parliament in Mezam Division of the North West Region of Cameroon, Hon. Agho Oliver has been on the field looking in to the plight of his people. In March this year, he offered roofing sheets worth over 9 million FCFA to close to thirty families in Bambui and Bafut. Thereafter, he paid a visit to the Sabga Aldorate where he put a smile on the faces of Muslim faithful with carton of sugar, tea and others during the fasting period.

He also stopped over at Sabga health center where he settled bills of all patients found at the facility at the time of his arrival, worth over 300.000FCFA. Hon Agho Oliver actively contributed alongside the Tubah mayor to disinfect the University of Bamenda campus and its satellite structures. The distribution of face masks and hand sanitizers to his constituents has been his permanent forte since the outbreak the pandemic in Cameroon.
