Mayor Ngwakongoh Of Bafut Preach Peace At Achievement Award

Just one year in office, the efforts of the mayor of Bafut, Ngwakongoh  Lawrence to  develop his municipality have come to lime light and have attracted recognition already. 

Last Saturday May 29, 2021,Mayor Ngwakongoh received the Achievement Award of Excellence from the Life Time Media Group in Bafousssam, chief town of the West Region of Cameroon.

The award in recognition of merit to Mayor Ngwakongoh Lawrence as a Young, Dynamic and Pragmatic Mayor was handed to him by the Governor of West Region, Awah Fonka Augustine.

After receiving the award, Mayor Ngwakongoh said, time for all to come together, keep hatred aside for the sake of the municipality is now.

"I am using this as an opportunity to called on my brothers and sisters who are still holding hatred in their heart to give peace a chance and let's make Bafut appear beautiful and developed, more than what it used to be," the mayor said.

He added that, his working spirit has been boosted and will be felt positively by all in his municipality and that, it has made him to understand the fact that, when working, put in your best because they may be people watching from a distance:

"It has made me to understand that when you are dancing, make sure you dance well because you don't know who is admiring your dancing styles. If my activities in Bafut are seen in the West Region up to the point that, i'm being rewarded, why can't we all in Bafut come together so that the world will see us shining as far as development is concern," Mayor Ngwakongoh indicated.

While hoping for better days ahead, he said he hope to do more for his people despite the odds. He also hope that, the ground will be level enough so that more development can take place in Bafut.
As for his recognition, the Mayor said, his development activities are the key factors as to why he was singled out among many others and recognized.

Road Accident Leaves Two Persons Dead Along Bamenda-Bambili Stretch

Chattered Vehicles As A Result Of Accident  By Raymond Dingana Township taxi drivers in Bamenda are still in shock following the death of one of theirs who died alongside his passenger at the Mile 6 neighborhood in Nkwen, on the Bamenda-Bambili road, Friday March 15, 2024. The accident that didn't only take away lives but caused enormous damages on the two vehicles involved has been attributed to over speeding. "The black private car was on top speed when it suddenly found itself on the other said of the road colliding with the taxi. The occupants of the private owned vehicle fled the scene after the accident. The vehicle was coming from the Mile 6 direction while the taxi was heading towards Bamenda, " explained a witness. Bamenda: Population Protests Killing Of Civilian By Uniform Officer

  Cross Section Of Protesting Crowd At Up Station  By Raymond Dingana The early hours of Thursday April 4,2024 was a tensed one at the Bamenda I council area following the stabbing to death of the young man identified as Junior Awazi popularly known as BJ by a uniform officer in civilian attire. The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday breaking Thursday April 4 in a beer parlor at Up Station, Bamenda I Council area. The population was out in the streets expressing their grievances demanding justice for the slain young man. " It all started when the uniform officer in civilian attire wounded a girl's hand after she rejected his love advances.
