As the Anglophone Crisis continues to disrupt the educational sector, particularly affecting children from low income families, private initiatives are stepping up to address the challenges.

Nkumu Fed Fed, a humanitarian organization led by a group of women from Bali Nyonga, has contributed massively in providing support to those in need. Ever since the Anglophone crisis degenerated into an armed conflict,  Nkumu Fed Fed is the only non governmental organization in the North West Region of Cameroon that has successfully penetrated the interior of Bali to create a positive impact on the community.

School Needs Donated To Learners In Mantum

On April 22, 2025, Nkumu Fed Fed took action in Mantum, a neighborhood where educational resources have been scarce. The organization provided essential school supplies and financial assistance to help secure the future of these children.

“Mantum is where Nkumu Fed Fed launched its education program. Prof. Emeritus Margaret Tita was the first chair for the education program, overseeing the construction of the Mantum school, sponsored by the British Council,”

explained Eunice Tita, President General of Nkumu Fed Fed.

During this ongoing crisis, the organization recognized the need to revisit its previous projects.

“We have been caring for the children of Mantum, but we felt it was important to assess and revitalize our earlier initiatives. We provided school bags filled with necessary supplies,”

 she added.

In addition to their educational efforts, Eunice Tita highlighted another pressing issue in Mantum, a broken bridge that hinders economic activities.

“We have been supporting livelihood programs for women’s groups in Mantum. They have expressed difficulties in transporting their farm produce to markets due to the damaged bridge. Nkumu Fed Fed has provided funding to help reconstruct it, as it is an urgent need.”

Nkumu Fed Fed is a gender focused NGO dedicated to supporting vulnerable women and youth in communities affected by crises. Through their initiatives, they continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those they serve.
