The North West Livestock Development Fund, known by its French acronym CDENO, has announced a budget execution rate of 98.1 percent for the 2025 financial year, showing strong performance despite the challenges facing the region.
The announcement was made during the institution's Administrative and Management Accounts Session held in Bamenda on June 10, 2026.
Presenting the report, CDENO Director, Mbah Shupong Michael, said the institution carried out several projects aimed at improving livestock production and ensuring food security. He revealed that over 204,000 day-old chicks were produced and distributed to farmers across the region.

More than 200,000 cattle in the North West and West regions were also vaccinated to prevent diseases. Farmers further received piglets, animal feed and other livestock inputs through government programmes, with women, youths and persons with disabilities receiving special attention.
Representing the Minister of Livestock, Governor Adolphe Lele L'Afrique praised CDENO's efforts and encouraged the institution to continue supporting rural communities as the North West gradually recovers from years of crisis.
Better Days Ahead for Livestock Farmers
During the session, the North West Livestock Development Fund (CDENO) announced more support for livestock farmers in the months ahead. The Director of CDENO, Mbah Shupong Michael, said the institution has several projects planned for 2026 that will benefit farmers across the region.
“We plan to support livestock farmers again in August or September with 50,000 day-old chicks and 100 piglets, among other forms of assistance already prepared for them,”
Mr. Shupong Michael said.
He added that the support is aimed at increasing livestock production and improving the livelihoods of farmers.
It should be noted that CDENO's assistance to livestock farmers has gone a long way in reducing poverty and improving the living conditions of vulnerable people and communities affected by the socio-political crisis in the North West Region and beyond.
